Examples of DMSO Use Protocols

Last updated on 18 Sept, 2025

Please follow the protocols, outlined below, in the precise order that they appear.

These are examples for general use. Specific conditions require the supervision and/or guidance of a licensed medical practitioner in your State, Province, Region and/or Country.

Bath for Relief

  1. Before hopping into the bath, take a quick shower to cleanse your body. This is crucial because DMSO is a powerful penetrant that boosts skin absorption. It could carry any dirt, oils, lotions or residues on your skin deeper into your body.

  2. Before drawing your bath, give your tub a thorough cleaning to zap any lingering bacteria, residue or contaminants. Chlorine Dioxide is effective in assisting with this.

  3. Tap water can have chlorine, heavy metals and fluoride that DMSO might help your skin absorb more of. Using filtered, distilled or Reverse Osmosis water is highly recommended.

  4. Fill your bathtub with warm water (not too hot). Use enough to comfortably cover your body.

  5. Measure out 1oz of 99.9% pure pharmaceutical grade DMSO. Pour it slowly into the bathwater. Stir gently again to mix everything well.

  6. Ease into the bath and soak for 15-30 minutes. Keep your head above water and breathe easy.

  7. Avoid using soap, shampoo or any other additives during the soak—they could interfere.

  8. When finished, air dry, or gently pat yourself dry with a fresh (clean) towel.

  9. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Topical Application for Relief

  1. Mix 70% DMSO solution with 30% distilled water in a clean container.

  2. Cleanse the entire area of the skin thoroughly and pat dry.

  3. Do a 'test' by applying a small dab of this mixture on your forearm.

  4. Wait 24 hours to check for redness or irritation before continuing with a full use.

  5. Re-cleanse the entire area of the skin thoroughly and pat dry.

  6. Apply the mixture and massage for 1–3 minutes.

  7. Allow natural absorption—no immediate wiping.

  8. After 15–30 minutes, wash off with mild soap and water.

  9. Keep the area clean—don't use harsh chemicals, perfumes or moisturizers in the area of skin for at least three hours.
